Commissioned by the ‘Quaker Concern for the Abolition of Torture’, Sally Beamish (composer) and Peter Thomson (librettist) have written a piece exploring the subject of torture which, apart from being an abhorrent act, is one of the reasons causing people to seek sanctuary around the world.
This powerful piece was premiered in Birmingham in 2022 and the recording of this is available online until the 16th April 2023.
