Acclaimed international pianist Margaret Fingerhut is performing a special concert, ‘Far from the Home I Love’, across the UK to raise awareness of refugee needs and to raise funds for local City of Sanctuary groups. We are very pleased to announce that Margaret will be playing in Chester at the Wesley Church Centre on October 17th 2019 at 7.30pm. The concert consists of words and music highlighting composers who were refugees or who migrated for their work. The programme includes works by Chopin, Grieg, Handel, Prokofiev and Rachmaninov. There is also a specially commissioned work by Arian, the Kurdish Syrian composer who wrote the Refugee National Anthem for the 2016 Olympics.
