Congratulations to the University of Chester  for gaining a University of Sanctuary award!

The award was presented by Inderjit Bhogal (co-founder of national ‘City of Sanctuary’ charity) and members of our group during Refugee Week – one of two ‘places of sanctuary’ awards we were delighted to present during the week.

The University gives two Sanctuary Awards each year to help with tuition fees and enable access to higher education for those seeking sanctuary.  The University has also shown commitment to fostering welcome, inclusivity and awareness in other ways through policies, teaching and research. There is input from the Student Experience Team, academic and professional staff and the University has a recently founded a STAR (Student Action for Refugees) group.
