Applications for University of Chester Sanctuary Award now open

The University of Chester offers an award to those seeking sanctuary to enable study with tuition fees waived. This is open to :

  • Someone seeking asylum or humanitarian protection in the UK, or a dependent or partner of someone seeking asylum
  • A dependent or partner of someone who has been granted limited leave to remain or some other form of temporary status

Those who have indefinite leave to remain can apply for student finance and are not eligible for this award.

 

Applications are now open for the start of the next academic year and the University has sent us the following:

“Each academic year, the University of Chester offers opportunities to study, free of tuition fees, to students seeking sanctuary.  Students need to either have already applied or be in the process of applying to study at the University of Chester and be nominated by a college, school or voluntary or community group, which must be prepared to support their application and provide a reference.  For more information about the University of Chester’s Sanctuary Award, and details of how to apply please visit https://www1.chester.ac.uk/student-support-and-wellbeing/support-packages/support-asylum-seekers
