Art Refugee and the Coronaquilt

Art Refugee is a group supporting the mental health and well-being of displaced persons, both internationally and in the UK, using art therapy. In response to the global ‘community level displacement’ caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the group has initiated the ‘Coronaquilt’ project. Here individuals are invited to connect by creating a ‘quilt’ square. These have been collated on instagram and can be seen via the following link:

Have a look at the on-line gallery which shows squares that have been received by the project and, hovering over these, gives additional information on each.

‘Iraqi Women Art and War’ (IWAW) are one group who have participated in the quilt and also presented other events (Iraqi cooking, Arabic calligraphy) during refugee week. Further information about the groups activities can be found via their Facebook page.
